Rooted in Tradition. Built across Generations.
German Brothers is a family-owned German food and cultural brand based in Chicago, Illinois, founded by brothers Daniel and Michael Korger. The story, however, began long before that…
A family history shaped by Craftsmanship and Markets

The Korger family has been involved in traditional market trade and handcrafted food production since 1991 in Germany. Their early work was rooted in natural, artisanal products — including honey and beeswax specialties produced with a strong focus on quality and craftsmanship. This tradition continues today through established family businesses in Germany and the United States, including Bienes Honighaus and Honey Bee Enterprises.
Daniel and Michael grew up in this environment and were involved from an early age, learning what true craftsmanship, seasonal trade, and authentic market culture mean in practice.
Over time, the family expanded its activities internationally, eventually bringing their experience and traditions to the United States starting in 2012.
From family experience to German Brothers

From this background, Daniel and Michael developed German Brothers — building on decades of family experience and turning it into a brand focused on sharing authentic German market culture with a wider audience.
For them, German Brothers is not just a business, but a continuation of something that has been part of their family for generations: creating moments around food, tradition, and atmosphere that people remember.
That history shapes everything we do.
From bratwurst inspired by traditional German recipes and imported-style specialties to signature winter drinks and handcrafted beer steins from Kannenbaeckerland, every detail reflects a commitment to authenticity, quality, and experience.
German Brothers is closely connected to Chicago’s seasonal market culture and has become a familiar stop for many visitors who return year after year.
Our goal remains simple: To bring the feeling of real German market culture to life in a way that feels welcoming, memorable, and true to tradition.
Because German Brothers was never meant to be just a business — it is a family tradition turned into an experience people come back to every year.
